Why should students build STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) skills, especially if you are women

Unified Super Learning is much more than just super speed learning in unprecedented scale. I created this program for social cause more than just teaching a speed learning. Since the main focus as of now is on Math and mathematical sciences, its relationship to STEM subjects are inseparable.

When I say that one of the main goals of USL is to narrow the global wealth gaps between the poor and the rich countries, the main factors are the STEM subjects.

  • The modern developed countries were all based on science and technology. There is no way out of this, but all the modern technology is based on science.
  • All the sciences are based on fundamental sciences, particularly physics, chemistry, and biology.
  • But modern biology is built on Chemistry.
  • Modern Chemistry is built on Physics.
  • Physics is always built on Math more than any.

Of course, then the technology keeps on feeding into the renovations in fundamental science more and more as time goes on, becoming interlocking loops.

Regardless, all are heavily based on math and physics and then chemistry more than anything else. People in the poor countries can never escape the vicious circles they have to go through unless they improve their math and physics education more than anything as most people find these two the most difficult or time-consuming to learn.

Remember that you spent 12 years of math classes before you go to colleges and how good is your math honestly? Even if you are good, how much do you really know and good enough to utilize it well?

The critical element here is the time. Since I happened to have some unusual knacks to crack all the difficult or time-consuming learning into little packages, I decided to create USL so that people can learn very fast, help the world very fast, very easily.


In the following I added more of the practical reasons why we need STEM for your careers and how the society needs them.


Why do STEM subjects need you?

  • STEM graduates have a lower unemployment rate than graduates in non-STEM fields. (4.7% vs 5.4%)
  • There are more STEM jobs available than there are qualified workers to fill them.
  • 30% of STEM job openings are in cities.
  • Only 11% of the population has a STEM degree.
  • For every computer major, there were 7 relevant job openings as of 2010.
  • Only 1 in 18 workers held a STEM job in 2010.


Now, why particularly women are needed for STEM more than ever?

  • Almost 60% of graduate students are women.
  • Women now earn about 90% of what men earn.
  • Women in STEM jobs earn about 33% more than women in non-STEM jobs.
  • Though women make up 46.7% of the entire workforce, they represent less than 25% of STEM workers.
  • Between 1985 and 2010, the % of degrees in computer science earned by women actually decreased from 37% to 18%! That’s not progress!
